Edo charges Bendel Insurance on new season

AS the 2011/2012 National League season begins at the weekend, the Edo State Government has charged Bendel Insurance Football Club to gain promotion.

The Commissioner for Sorts, Anita Evbuomwan, who stated this in Benin City the weekend, also urged the club to make excellence its watchword in order to move to the next level.

A statement by the ministry’s spokesperson, Precious Igbonwelundu, quoted the commissioner as saying that with great commitment, unity of purpose and hard work, the team would definitely gain promotion to the Premiere League division, noting that the team has so far maintained a level of discipline.

“It is a thing of joy that no complaints of interference or imposition of players has come to the ministry, and I am particularly happy because I believe Bendel Insurance is on the right track,” the statement read. “I am very optimistic that by the special grace of God, Edo people will see darling Bendel Insurance gain promotion.”

Inspecting the newly acquired kits as well as other equipments for the club, Evbuomwan commended the management for the successful registration of players, adding that she was pleased that the Bright Omokaro-led technical crew has received unflinching support from all.
