With a new year you would think Kate Middleton’s star wouldn’t be shining quite as bright as it was in 2011, but it appears celebrities are still following her fashion tastes.

It was only a few weeks ago that we saw the Duchess donning a black lace dress at the premiere of War Horse.

And now The Saturdays’ Mollie King and Jenson Button’s girlfriend Jessica Michibata have followed suit as they dressed to the nines for InStyle’s latest bash in London.

Ladies in lace: Mollie and Jessica followed Kate Middleton’s style by turning up to Thursday’s InStyle party with black lace dresses

The girls were part of a star-studded guest list, including TV presenter Amanda Byram and actress Melissa George, who attended the Best of British Talent party at trendy Shoreditch House.

Mollie, 24, looked ravishing in her take on the black lace dress look, opting for a chic pencil number which came down to below her knees.

Adding to her demure get-up, the blonde beauty showed off her enviable figure in the v-neck strappy frock.

And to accessorise she completed the outfit with a black clutch bag and killer matching heels.

And
another lady sporting a similar ensemble was Jenson’s missus Jessica,
who also wore a black lacy gown with flowers embellished on to the
bronze dress.

The Japanese model opted for a small red clutch with nude heels, wearing her long brunette hair loose.

Other
stars that stunned as they turned up to the bash included Downton Abbey
star Laura Carmichael, who chose a sheer LBD number with ankle boots.

Melissa George also made an appearance, brightening her own black dress up with a white blazer and tights.

Jameela Jamil looked stunning as always in a mini-dress from Disaya which showed off her perfect figure.

And
the 25-year-old stamped her own quirky style on the look with her
obligatory red lipstick and bright yellow heels to give it a splash of
colour.

And the TV star was ecstatic with her look, writing on Twitter after the event: ‘Wore a lovely little frock from Disaya today… Such a glamorous party. It felt very old school hollywood. Thanks @instyle.’

Luther’s Ruth Wilson mixed the other
looks, showing up in a monochrome frock, and while the dress worked her
bouffant hair was questionable.

TV chef Gizzi Erskine went for a kooky cute number with a green and white shirt dress and black tights.

And she wore her hair up in her typical style, giving herself some height with some slingback black heels.

But
while Gizzi tried to stand out from the crowd, Downton Abbey actress
Michelle Dockery played it safe in a simple LBD, as did TV presenter
Amanda Byram.

And it was clearly down to Pixie Geldof and Marina Diamandis to show up in the fashion misses of the night.

Pixie went for androgynous chic in tight black trousers and large black jacket.

But she dressed it up with strappy heels, a leopard print bag and lashings of red lippie.

Meanwhile, Marina stepped out in her own zany outfit, combining a long satin smock with peach jacket and handbag.

And she went a bit too OTT with her bright pink Barbie-style lipstick.
