Inter defender Ivan Cordoba has insisted that the Giuseppe Meazza side’s poor start to the season did not affect their morale as they never lost confidence.
The Nerazzurri recorded some disappointing results in the opening months of the season, and even found themselves dangerously close to the relegation zone at one point.
Nevertheless, they have since climbed to fourth spot in the Serie A table following some impressive performances, much to the satisfaction of Cordoba.
“We always aim to do better, then we’ll analyse things at the end of the season. The most important thing is that we never lost confidence and the knowledge that we are a strong team,” Cordoba was quoted as saying on the Inter website.
“It’s not right to think everything is already taken care of and that there’s no more growing left to do. A great team always wants to improve.”
Inter are currently preparing for the Coppa Italia quarter-final away against Napoli on Wednesday as they look to defend the trophy they won last season.
