Botswana will dump Ghana out of 2012 AFCON - Gaye

African football expert Mamadou Gaye remains resolute in his conviction that Ghana will suffer a first round exit at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Ivorian says the Black Stars will be undone in the competition from day one when they play less fancied Botswana on Tuesday.

“Let me tell you Botswana will take of Ghana out of this Nations Cup,” he said during the weekly African football show on SuperSport ‘Soccer Africa’.

“These boys have nothing to lose and their playing their first game against one of the so-called favourites of this competition.

“Ghana don’t have strikers and so they will hope to win by penalties and that is why I say they will go out of the competition in the group stages.”

However fellow panelists, Sammy Kuffour and Idah Peterside both predicted a top of the group finish for the Black Stars but expressed concerns over Ghana’s thin forward line.

“That is one of the complaints back in Ghana, that if you are going you should have at least two more strikers especially with Asamoah Gyan not 100% fit,” Kuffour said.

“But Muntari can get us goals from midfield and Agyemang-Badu also who scored three goals during the qualifiers.”
