CPP Elders Sack Dr. Nduom

Sources within the Convention People’s Party (CPP) have said that the party’s Council of Elders have directed the national executives of the party to expel the 2008 flagbearer, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom.

This decision was the outcome of a meeting by the Council of Elders on Thursday. According to the source, the party secretariat has been directed to serve Dr. Nduom a dismissal letter, which is expected to be given to him somewhere next week.

However, Dr. Nduom’s spokesperson Richmond Keelson, has laughed off the proposal from the CPP.

Mr. Keelson told Citi News “it’s simply absurd, very preposterous because the man is out of the party. He didn’t hide in the corner of his room to announce that he is no more with the CPP, he made it very public for every Ghanaian to know. ”

“It is clear that the man has left the party. The issue about whether he should resign formally or not, I don’t think we would want to glorify the CPP in anyway,” he added.

“I think they have a very daunting task just like any other political party so they should be concentrating on how to build their party because we are moving on. ”
