Some banks that attempted to provide back door services were yesterday forced to shut down operations by officials of the organized labour.
Daily Trust noticed five persons on surveillance mission for labour around a bank in Area 3, Garki Abuja arguing with security agents and staff of the bank.
When asked, an official of the bank, who spoke off record said, “we were directed to open the branch to customers, but these people are from labour to force compliance with the strike action.
“I have contacted our head office in Lagos and they have told us to shut down and leave. So we have complied.”
An official of another bank at the Central Area also revealed that banks tried to provide services to customers but were all forced to shut their doors.
