Arsenal’s Andrey Arshavin hails Thierry Henry’s ‘fairytale’ return after FA Cup third round winner against Leeds United

Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin is happy the fans got their wish after Thierry Henry’s spectacular return to action against Leeds United in the FA Cup.

Henry came off the bench to score the only goal of the game and send Arsene Wenger’s side through to the fourth round where they face fellow Premier League side Aston Villa, and Arshavin believes the match turned out just like a “fairytale”.

“What can I say about the game? We were dominating throughout the match having complete playing and territorial advantage,” he told his official website.

“What we needed was one precise strike and then everything turned out like in a fairy tale. The legend of Arsenal came back and he magically sent the ball where it was supposed to go after our strikes.

“The fans were excited about his comeback and were looking forward to seeing him on the pitch. Thierry is the best goal-scorer in the history of Arsenal. I guess he scored about 230 goals and gave numerous assists.

“It is not surprising that the fans were looking forward to seeing the man who let them experience the joy of victories in various competitions.

“All the newspapers, magazines and other media in the Internet devoted very much attention to his return to the gunners’ camp. It happened. The star is back and shining.”
