Agent: Borussia Dortmund-bound Marco Reus did not ask Bayern Munich for playing guarantees

Goal :    The agent of Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marco Reus has rejected reports that his charge turned down a move to Bayern Munich because he could not be guaranteed playing time.

A report from Kicker claimed that negotiations between Reus and Bayern had broken down after the club declined to guarantee playing time for the Germany international, who would have faced stiff competition from Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery.

Reus’ agent said that his client did have ‘preliminary discussions’ with Bayern, but guaranteed that such demands were not behind the decision to pass up the Bavarian club’s offer.

“Such a guarantee was never in the contract talks,” Dirk Hebel is quoted by sport1 as saying.
