President receives BNI’s cocaine-turned-soda powder report

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) has presented its interim report to the President John Evans Atta Mills.

It was presented through the National Security Coordinator, Col. (retd) Larry Gbevlo lartey at the Castle on Friday.

The BNI was tasked by President Mills on 14th December, 2011 in the heat of the cocaine which turned into sodium bicarbonate to unravel the mystery and report to him in order for government to carry out further action.

A statement by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister for Information, on Friday said the government’s action is “not limited to ensuring that the law rigorously applies in punishing anybody found culpable”.

He said: “The President is now in receipt of the BNI’s interim report and is studying it for follow-up action”.
