Islamist group Boko Haram attacked a town hall Today in Adamawa state killing at least 20 people who had gathered for a meeting.
The attack at noon targeted a town hall where Christian Igbo people were holding a meeting, with gunmen chanting “God is great” as they fired rifles.
The attack occurred in Mubi in Adamawa state as Igbo traders held a meeting before opening up their shops for business, local police commissioner Ade T. Shinaba said.
“We started hearing many gunshots through the windows,” said Okey Raymond, 48, who attended the meeting. “Everyone scampered for safety, but the gunmen chanted: ‘God is great God is great’ while shooting at us.”
Raymond said he hid under a table and escaped out a back door. The gunmen also carried knives and machetes, the police commissioner said.
No arrests have been made in the attack, which left at least another 15 people wounded.
Friday’s attack comes after gunmen attacked a church in the northeast Nigeria city of Gombe during a prayer service Thursday night, spraying the congregation with gunfire and killing at least eight people including the pastor’s wife, local medical officials said.
Boko Haram spokesman, claimed responsibility for the attacks in Gombe and Mubi.
“We want to prove to the federal government of Nigeria that we can always change our tactics,” the spokesman said.

My opinion is all southerners should vacate the North immediately. Gboko is getting bolder. The Mosques should be decimated since the Govt and the traditional rulers do not want to do anything to curb these people. Nigeria as a state is in a state of emergency. The s****d stogies in the presidency, the so called Federal house and senate as well as the various State Governments are in hiding and their constituents are perishing. Gboko has declare an all out war and people should respond. AAh AAH!! Where is the UN or is it just mere condemnation that we should get? The situation is out of hands and Nigeria is looking like Sudan now. A petition should be sent to the Arab leaders and the international organizations. What happened to co-existence for heaven’s sake? Saudi Arabia should speak to these things that are misrepresenting their religion. Civilization started in Egypt which is principally a Muslim country so I do not understand these Gboko people. My people escape while you have your life. You can rebuild elsewhere but Northern Nigeria.

The other day, the head of the Niger Delta militants said they are respecting the Presidency otherwise they will attack. Are you only interested in history having it that someone from Niger Delta was once a president? What is the legacy GEJ will leave when a rag tag army is doing as it pleases in the North. Frankly I am so tired of this mess. One thing I know is that this war they have called for will be thoroughly finnaced.
