Angola: National Police Assess Yearend Activity

Luanda — National police recorded between December 2011 and January 1 this year, 237 different crimes, an increase of 12 compared to the previous period, which led to the detention of 226 citizens, said Tuesday in Luanda an official source.

Releasing nationwide data, the second general commander of corporation, commissioner chief Paulo de Almeida, put at 205 the number of offences clarified, corresponding to 86 percent of operation.

Luanda, the country’s capital led the criminal statistics, with 33 offences (less 24 in relation to the previous period), followed by the central Huambo province with 23 crimes (more 9), southern provinces of Benguela and Huíla, respectively with 23 each, (less 3).
