In handling the Boko Haram security challenge, our leaders should take a cue from the United States when it had the 9/11 terror attack on the World Trade Centre. We need detailed security intelligence to solve this scourge. A state of emergency only works when your enemy is known but the members of the Boko Haram sect is made up of lone rangers who are ready to die if they can attack army barracks and police headquarters. How will a state of emergency stop them? We need more terrorist intelligence in the country to deal with the Boko Haram challenge because the sect is emboldened by security lapses.
