Marc Fourmeaux denies being agent of Lille’s Eden Hazard

French football agent Marc Fourmeaux has denied being the representative of Lille attacker Eden Hazard.

The Italian press had circulated quotes made by the agent that his alleged client was destined for a move to a European heavyweight, with a 30 million bid from Manchester City mentioned in the process.

However, Fourmeaux released a statement on Monday explaining that he was merely quizzed on where he felt the future of the 20-year-old would lie, before maintaining he had never claimed to be his agent.

“In my capacity, as a football agent, I analyse the situation of several players who currently play in the French league,” he said.

“In the course of the interview, particularly in relation to Mr. Hazard, I stated that he felt his future laid at a prestigious team.

“I must reiterate that during this event I did not claim to be the agent of the player, and although I did make a statement, I only echoed the statements made by the player himself,” he concluded.
