IBADAN – AS controversy trails the inauguration of a new Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Transition, Reconciliation and Congress, TRC, Committee in Oyo State, a chieftain of the party, Senator Lekan Balogun has said those kicking against the committee were merely flogging a dead horse.
He said this time around, the only thing that could roll back the wheel of reconciliation among the feuding party was unfairness on the part of the committee members.
Some party members believed to be loyalists of former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala had earlier opposed the membership of the committee.
Senator Balogun said this in Ibadan during the swearing-in of the committee members by their leader, Olalewu who had earlier been sworn-in by the National Vice-chairman (South-West) Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo.
While urging the committee to shun all forms of enticement that could fester old wounds and jeopardise the peace process, the lawmaker apologised on the continued absence of the former governor of the state.
