A man has been killed after being hit by a car driven by his friends, who had come to assist him after the man crashed into a wall in Midrand, ER24 said on Sunday.

Apparently the driver of a Toyota Run X lost control and crashed into a wall while travelling on Modderfontein and Dale Road early on Sunday morning, said ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks.

The man called his friends for assistance and waited for them at the back of the car.

“Somehow when the friends arrived, they lost control and crashed into the back of the Run X pushing the driver underneath the car and killing him and knocking the passenger.”

A third car rolled as a result of the accident, with the driver flung out the car.

Banks said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found two of the cars up against a residential roof and the third overturned in the middle of the road.

The Toyota Run X driver, who was in his 20s, was declared dead on the scene.

A woman and another man sustained neck and back injuries.

Banks said, “Three other people were found walking around on scene.”

They were treated for minor cuts and bruises and all the injured were taken to hospital. – Sapa
