In his first TV interview since the end of his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries says he’s moving past the marriage drama and focusing on the sport he loves.

“Through everything, I’m just focused on family and preparing for basketball,” he said. “For me, it’s just, certain things happen in life and you’ve got to move forward. I’m excited to be where I’m at right now, with the NBA season coming up.”

Appearing with his mother, Debra, on Good Morning America, the New Jersey Nets star mostly evaded questions about his whirlwind romance with Kardashian.

Humphries also refused to talk about his request to have the marriage annulled.

“Really, right now, I’m focused on basketball, and other things will take care of themselves,” he says.

Having played in the NBA since he was 19, Humphries, now 26, is accustomed to being on camera, but admitted having his life filmed for a reality show was “a different level” of fame. He said he tries to avoid the media coverage of his separation from Kim and is not a regular viewer of Kourtney and Kim Take New York.

“The only things I really watch on TV of myself is playing basketball. I’ve never been someone to really watch the show on TV or anything like that,” he said. “I don’t really play into all the gossip.”

“We’re not trying to look back; we’re trying to just focus on moving forward,” Debra Humphries adds.
