{"id":9795,"date":"2011-12-09T14:24:43","date_gmt":"2011-12-09T14:24:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/12\/teens-jailed-for-murder-robbery\/"},"modified":"2011-12-09T14:24:43","modified_gmt":"2011-12-09T14:24:43","slug":"teens-jailed-for-murder-robbery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/12\/09\/teens-jailed-for-murder-robbery\/","title":{"rendered":"Teens jailed for murder, robbery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div readability=\"8\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iol.co.za\/polopoly_fs\/dec-9-handcuffs-1.1195472!\/image\/3592833043.jpg_gen\/derivatives\/box_300\/3592833043.jpg\" alt=\"dec 9 handcuffs\" title=\"\" class=\"pics\" \/><\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>The Plettenberg Bay Regional Cout has sentenced two teenagers convicted of robbery and murder to 18 and 25 years in jail.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Two teenagers convicted of robbery and murder have been jailed for 18 and 25 years by the Plettenberg Bay Regional Court, police said on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAthenkosi Makazu was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for murder and 10 years for house robbery with aggravating circumstances and housebreaking and theft,\u201d said Captain Bernadine Steyn.<\/p>\n<p>Sibongile Ndzelani was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for murder and 15 years for the other crimes.<\/p>\n<p>The men, aged 18 and 19, will serve their sentences concurrently.<\/p>\n<p>They were sentenced on Thursday for a murder and robbery they committed in Plettenberg Bay in November last year.<\/p>\n<p>In the early hours of the morning on November 2, 2010, they broke into the home of Richard Carr and his wife in Navesink Crescent.<\/p>\n<p>When police arrived on the scene, they found Carr, aged 57, dead in the bedroom of the house, having been stabbed several times in his body.<\/p>\n<p>His wife, aged 42, was taken to hospital after being found with a stab wound in her right arm and several face injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Makazu and Ndzelani were arrested two days later and were found in possession of a headlamp, wallet, haircutting machine, cellular phone, and simcard taken from the house. \u2013 Sapa<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>See original article:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.iol.co.za\/teens-jailed-for-murder-robbery-1.1195888\" title=\"Teens jailed for murder, robbery\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Teens jailed for murder, robbery<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> .
