\nAbuja \u2014 Super Eagles chief coach, Stephen Keshi is planning to build his new look attack around Yakubu Aiyegbeni should the Blackburn Rovers striker maintain his current form with the English Premier League club.<\/p>\n
Keshi expressed joy that Yakubu is banging in the goals, adding that the player who was rejected by the former coach, Samson Siasia, will definitely stage a return to the Eagles fold.<\/p>\n
‘I am so happy with his current form, and I am hoping that he continues with it, because that is the only way I can recall him to the team,’ said Keshi. ‘Football is all about current form, and by the form of the player he deserves to stage a comeback to the team.’<\/p>\n
The Eagles coach maintained that his team is still very much open for any player that is doing well in his club.<\/p>\n
‘I do not have a team yet, which means that any player that is doing well with his club must have a chance to break into my team. I want result and I need players that would give me the result.’<\/p>\n
Keshi has the big task of rebuilding the Super Eagles after the team failed to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations. The coach is currently shopping for new players both home and abroad capable of fitting into his plan for the team.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Eagles coach has lamented delay by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to facilitate the take-off of his planned camping exercise for selected players from the Nigeria Premier League.<\/p>\n
Camping of home-based players, according to him, was supposed to hold from December 5-20, but he would be meeting with NFF officials this weekend to deliberate on new dates for the programme.<\/p>\n
‘As it is now we have missed three days already from the initial date, which I proposed, and it is not the way I had planned it. But after my meeting with them at the Glass House I will see how it will go,’ Keshi said.<\/p>\n
The former national team captain said it is his plan to always have the home-based players in camp for regular training as he builds a new Super Eagles team.<\/p>\n
‘I really have the plan to get the home-based players involved in the Super Eagles team and the best way to go about it is to have them in camp on regular basis, which would afford me the opportunity to discover the good ones that can fit into the mainstream Super Eagles team, he said.<\/p>\n
Keshi recently returned from Morocco, venue of the 2011 CAF Under-23 Championship, where he gave technical advice to the Nigerian representatives unfortunately they could not make it beyond the first round of the eight-nation Olympic qualifying tournament.<\/p>\n
