A couple was killed when their car veered off a bridge between Kroonstad and Vredefort in the Free State, said paramedics on Friday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe driver lost control of the vehicle which careened through bridge barriers and over the side,\u201d Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTheir vehicle struck the ground and overturned, rolling several times.\u201d<\/p>\n
The woman passenger, whose body was trapped in the wreckage, died before emergency services arrived on the scene, on Thursday afternoon. The man, who was driving, was flung from the car. He was taken to hospital in a critical condition and later died.<\/p>\n
