She and her father had one of the most public bitter rifts in showbuisiness when they didn’t speak for seven years.<\/span><\/p>\n

But after patching things up early last year, its seems Angelina Jolie and her actor father Jon Voight are well and truly back on the right path.<\/span><\/p>\n

Father and daughter shared a close embrace at tonight’s Los Angeles premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey, Angelina’s directorial d\u00e9but.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 36-year-old actress looked stunning in a one shouldered navy blue <\/span>Romona Keveza dress and Jimmy Choo shoes as she stepped on the carpet, with her other leading man Brad Pitt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brad, 47, managed to perfectly match his girlfriend’s outfit in a dark blue three-piece Tom Ford suit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple held hands as they posed for photographers on the red carpet at Hollywood’s Arclight Theatre.

She looked pleased to see her father, who is most famous for his Oscar-winning role in 1969 movie Midnight Cowboy.

The
\n72-year-old actor who recently appeared in TV series 24, looked equally
\nhappy to see his daughter by his former wife, the late model and
\nactress Marcheline Bertrand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Angelina fell out with her father
\nafter he gave an interview on U.S. television back in 2002, in which he
\nclaimed his daughter, who had just adopted her Cambodian-born son
\nMaddox, had ‘serious mental problems’. <\/span><\/p>\n

‘I’m broken-hearted… because I’ve
\nbeen trying to reach my daughter and get her help, and I have failed and
\nI’m sorry,’ he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Angelina responded by cutting off her
\nfather completely, saying that, as a new mother, she did not think it
\nwas healthy to associate with him.<\/span><\/p>\n

In an interview a year later, she
\nsaid Voight’s comments were damaging because they could have affected
\nher relationship with Maddox.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\"Show<\/p>\n

In the unlikely love story, which opens in American theatres on December 23, Daniijel inadvertently becomes Aija’s jailer when the Bosnians are captured by the Serbs.<\/span>
<\/span><\/p>\n

In a recent interview with USA Today, Angelina talked about her movie, which is set in 1990s war-torn Bosnia.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘I\u2019ve always been drawn to war films,’ she said.\u00a0 ‘I did love directing. If I\u2019m allowed, if I\u2019m accepted, I will do it again. I am still very shy about it.’<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\"Cast<\/p>\n

She said her experiences as a UN goodwill ambassador providing support and aid for refugees helped give her the idea for the film, which she also wrote.

‘I was going through a period where I was thinking a lot about my 10 years travelling into these situations and all the people I met who had gone through conflict and how their lives were affected,’ she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘I chose Bosnia because I had been through the area and was very drawn to the region. I just felt I should know more and there should be a discussion.’<\/span><\/p>\n

And with just weeks to go until Christmas, the star also divulged that she likes to start her Christmas shopping early ‘in case we have to travel somewhere.’

She added: ‘Brad and I were on Amazon.com for the first time a week ago. But we got lost. After an hour, we just shut it off. My brain is too scattered and the wires go in different directions. I\u2019ll stick to catalogues.’<\/span><\/p>\n
