Bayern Munich’s Croatia striker Ivica Olic<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bayern Munich’s unhappy Croatia striker Ivica Olic said on Thursday a potential new employer could be German league rivals VfL Wolfsburg, as he looks to move away during January’s transfer window.<\/p>\n

“That is an option,” the 32-year-old Olic told German magazine Kicker, with his contract set to expire in June.<\/p>\n

“I am not happy, these are difficult days.”<\/p>\n

Olic confirmed there has also been contact with clubs outside Germany, as he looks to get more first-team football to recapture his form for Croatia at next summer’s Euro 2012.<\/p>\n

“I am not a young player anymore and I only have two or three years left to play. I have to use this time,” he said.<\/p>\n

“I don’t know what will happen in the winter break, but I will leave here in the summer at the latest.”<\/p>\n

Olic made a rare appearance for Bayern in the 2-0 Champions League defeat at Manchester City on Wednesday, but the club are insisting they will not let him leave as he provides cover for star striker Mario Gomez.<\/p>\n

“We do not plan to let a player leave in the winter break, but Ivi Olic needs more games,” admitted coach Jupp Heynckes.<\/p>\n

Dogged by knee problems and a hip injury in the last 18 months, the Croatian forward has been sparsely deployed since Heynckes arrival at the start of the season.<\/p>\n

He has been told by Croatia manager Slaven Bilic that he needs regular matches in the run-up to Euro 2012, where Croatia have been drawn against champions Spain, Italy and the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n
