An Abuja Senior Magistrates\u2019 Court on Thursday sentenced a \u00a024-year-old businessman, Daniel Ekemaye, to two months imprisonment for selling his friend\u2019s blackberry phone without his consent.<\/p>\n

The police prosecutor, Corporal Emeka Oganah, told the court that on December 4, Mr Ahone Oja of Lugbe Zone 5, Abuja, reported the accused at Lugbe Police Station.<\/p>\n

Oganah said that Ekemaye collected Oja\u2019s blackberry handset valued N55, 000, thereafter, sold it at N7,000 without his consent.<\/p>\n

He said that when Ekemaye was questioned, he could not give a satisfactory account of the incident.<\/p>\n

The prosecutor said the offence was contrary to Section 308 of the Penal Code.<\/p>\n

Ekemaye pleaded guilty to the offence and begged the court to temper justice with mercy.<\/p>\n

Convicting Ekemaye, Senior Magistrate Aliyu Shafa gave him an option of N1,000 fine to deter others with similar intention.(NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
