Three men accused of murdering a suspected child killer in Kwanokuthula, outside Plettenberg Bay, were granted bail by the Knysna Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Mlamli Mtimkulu Pshwaei, 54, Mbonisi Puli, 33, and Michael Besana, 31, were released on R1000 bail each, said Captain Malcolm Pojie.<\/p>\n

The case was postponed until March 7 for further investigation.<\/p>\n

The three are accused of murdering 37-year-old Derrick Shwati.<\/p>\n

Last week, about 2000 people interrogated Shwati about a missing seven-year-old girl, Siphokazi Nini.<\/p>\n

He led them to a deserted area and allegedly pointed out Nini’s body. The child had been reported missing.<\/p>\n

The mob then attacked Shwati, pelting him with stones and other objects until he died.<\/p>\n

Last Wednesday, about 300 people protested outside the Plettenberg Bay police station and demanded the release of the arrested men.<\/p>\n

Police used stun grenades to disperse the protesters after they burned tyres on the street. – Sapa<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
