COACH BASHIRU Hayford’s position as Technical Head of Medeama SC seems to be in danger; as management has ordered him to proceed on leave barely a week after the start of the new season.

The dejected Coach Bashiru, reacting to the development, said he has taken delivery of a letter sent by management ordering him to proceed on a 35-day annual leave.

The former Kotoko trainer said his employers, in the letter, stated that they had realized that he was tired so they wanted him to rest.

Coach Bashiru Hayford expressed surprise about the shocking decision of Medeama management, insisting that he was not tired as stated by his employers.

He said if the decision would lead to his eventual sack from the club then so be it, stressing that he was doing everything to transform the club.

Kotoko recently told Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin to proceed on leave and he was never recalled to the club, and observers think a similar fate would befall Coach Bash.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Medeama SC, Ebenezer Aidoo, however stated that the club had not sacked Coach Bashiru.

According to him, things were not working out for the club as planned and this had influenced management’s decision to order Coach Bashiru to proceed on leave.

He said management would meet Coach Bashiru and thrash out some few things on Friday after which the club would officially make public as to whether Coach Bash would return to the club again or not.

In Coach Bashiru’s absence, he said Deputy Trainer, Yussif Abubakar would lead the club to face former Ghana champions Aduana Stars this weekend.

Medeama SC started the new league season on a poor note as they were whipped by Wa All Stars. Soccer pundits believed the loss influenced management’s decision to order Coach Bashiru to proceed on leave.
