MSIG is part of <a href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\/jobs-ghana\/marie-stopes-international\" rel=\"tag\" title=\"Posts tagged with marie stopes international\">Marie Stopes International<\/a>\u2019s Global Partnership, which operates in over 38 countries worldwide.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong><a title=\"Job\" href=\"http:\/\/joblistghana.com\">Job<\/a> Description<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><em>Marie Stopes International Ghana (MSIG) has vacancy for well-organised, client-oriented and multi-tasked individual with relevant qualification and experience to occupy the under listed position in the organization.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Length of contract:<\/strong>\u00a01 year (with Possibility of extension)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Role of Purpose:<\/strong><br \/>The Research Officer is responsible for providing overall research support to the Regional Research Advisor for West and Southern Africa based in Accra-Ghana. The post involves international travel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development of a user manual and training package to costing MSI services<\/li>\n<li>Train MSI programme staff to implement in costing tool<\/li>\n<li>Support the Regional Research Advisor with ad hoc data entry, management, analysis, interpretation and reporting<\/li>\n<li>Work with MSI programmes to identify and access new datasets<\/li>\n<li>Research and pursue innovations that might present research opportunities for MSI<\/li>\n<li>Assist MSI programmes with the implementation and evaluation of a new poverty measurement tool<\/li>\n<li>Build relations with key stakeholders in the region including government and researchers for potential collaboration and capacity-building<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>This is a local position. Interested Non-Ghanaians must therefore have the necessary legal permits required to work in Ghana.\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Required Skills or Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>First Degree in Statistics or Mathematics: Social Science; Economics or Demography and Population Science<\/li>\n<li>Fluent English both oral and written<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The candidate must have:<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in health economics, public health, social science or reproductive healthcare<\/li>\n<li>Research and project management experience<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, analyzing and writing-up high quality research<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated capabilities of producing results when working with individuals from a range of cultures with varying levels of expertise<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated experience of actively collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to train others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities:<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong quantitative analytical skills, confident with uni- and bi-variate analysis as a minimum<\/li>\n<li>IT literate \u2013 competence with MS Office (including Excel) and SPSS (preferred) or STATA<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to communicate research findings clearly and concisely<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must be pro-choice<\/li>\n<li>The applicant must be analytical and detail-oriented<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>How To Apply<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Interested and qualified applicants should send their CV and covering letter to the address below.
