Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, the 2008 presidential candidate for the Convention People\u2019s Party (CPP) has stated that the CPP is the only political force that has the requisite development policies and appropriate ideology to make Ghana strong, disciplined and prosperous.<\/p>\n

According to Dr. Nduom, both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have had the opportunity to demonstrate what they can offer the people of Ghana, however, the results have shown that the living standards of the masses have not improved. Dr. Nduom declared that it was only the CPP that could bring about massive development, economic transformation and total utilisation of untapped potentials in Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

He made these known when he helped open seven offices for the party in the Ashanti region. The constituencies which benefitted from Dr. Ndoum\u2019s goodwill were Asante-Akim North, Asante Akim South, Bosome-Freho, Ejisu-Juaben, New Edubiase, Kumawu, and Adansi-Akrofrom.<\/p>\n

Dr. Nduom said the CPP had critically analysed and assessed its performance in previous elections and had come out with strategies to achieve electoral success in 2012.<\/p>\n

He vowed to do everything possible to resource the party and provide it with the needed logistics.<\/p>\n

Before commissioning the offices, the CPP delegation, made up of national, regional and constituency officials, paid courtesy calls on the traditional leaders in the various towns that these party offices were situated.<\/p>\n

These visits were all preceded with brass band procession throughout the principal streets of the various towns.<\/p>\n

The first point of call was Juaso in the Asante-Akyem South constituency, where the first office was commissioned. The next was Konongo in the Asante-Akeyme North. The euphoria surrounding the commissioning of these offices was replicated in all the constituencies visited.<\/p>\n

Dr. Nduom and his team went to the Kumawu constituency to meet with the chiefs and people of the area. The Ashanti Regional Chairman, Dr. Theophilus Coffie presented two bottles of schnapps and an undisclosed amount to the chief and his elders on behalf of the party.<\/p>\n

Dr. Coffie commended the efforts of the constituency executives and asked them to recruit more people to join the party.\u00a0 The National Women\u2019s Organiser, Mary Boakye-Boateng and former National Organiser, Evelyn Anabila promised to support the constituencies to complete their polling station organization work.<\/p>\n

In his opening speech, Dr Nduom disclosed that the Kumawu constituency was a strong-hold the CPP. According to him, it was one of the vibrant pillars of the Nkrumah government, adding that the late Krobo Edusei was a CPP champion in that particular constituency.<\/p>\n

He indicated that Krobo Edusei was one of the true sons of this nation who worked selflessly in the interest of the CPP and ultimately, Ghana. He urged members of the party to emulate the good display of the enthusiastic commitment of Krobo Edusei, adding that party members stop their individualistic agenda and make gross sacrifices for the party so that come 2012, the CPP will ascend to the seat of government again.<\/p>\n

Dr Nduom tasked the constituency executives to recruit more people into the party and organize them to win more parliamentary and presidential votes for the CPP.<\/p>\n
