Leaders from across the public and private sectors of Africa are gearing up for the Vodafone African Business Leaders Forum (ABLF) 2011 slated for Accra, Ghana, from November 10-12.<\/p>\n

The African Business Leaders Forum 2011 is designed to help business leaders in the public and private sectors to understand and strengthen their resolve to fight poverty and under-development on the continent.<\/p>\n

It will provide a platform for business leaders in Africa and the Diaspora to share insights and debate business development options. Participants will have the opportunity of learning from the experiences of renowned entrepreneurs and prominent world-class business leadership experts.<\/p>\n

The high-level networking sessions also provide opportunities for strategic business partnerships among delegates.<\/p>\n

The event is organised by BIA Conferences and Business & Financial Times, Africa\u2019s leading provider of credible and reliable business information, in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ghana, and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency Prof. John Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana.<\/p>\n

The theme for the forum is: \u2018Enhancing Africa\u2019s Business Opportunities through Effective Public-Private Partnerships.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year\u2019s forum will be the most promising ever, coming at a time when Africa is imbued with boundless hope and countless opportunities,\u201d said Mrs. Edith Dankwa, Executive Director of the Business & Financial Times.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe intend to realise a vision of a prosperous and confident Africa through beneficial exchanges across countries and borders, which will ultimately generate the ideas and actions to move the continent forward,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Speakers at previous ABLF sessions included past and present African Heads of State, Government Ministers, top-notch business executives, entrepreneurs and CEOs from the African continent and beyond.<\/p>\n

Aside the knowledge-building and high-level business networking opportunities presented by ABLF, there will also be an international exhibition, which companies and businesspeople could take advantage of to present their unique selling propositions to an exclusive and well-defined group of organisational and individual customers.<\/p>\n

Topics to be discussed at this epochal gathering of African experts and leaders include Africa\u2019s Corporate Governance Systems; Business Leadership in a Competitive Landscape; The Media and Africa\u2019s Economic Development Agenda; Navigating Africa\u2019s Economic Growth; Africa\u2019s Leadership and Developmental Agenda; Education and Human Capital Development in Africa; Women in Leadership & Entrepreneurship; Information and Communications Technology Development in Africa; Finance, Banking and Investment in Africa; and Energy in Africa (Energy as Development Resources).<\/p>\n

Key speakers expected at the forum include Mr. Kyle Whitehill, CEO of Vodafone Ghana; Dr. James Mwangi, CEO of Equity Bank, Kenya; Dr. Sam Jonah, CEO of Jonah Capital Group; Patrice Motsepe, Chairman of Africa Rainbow Minerals; Aliko Dangote, President of Dangote Group; Ms. Hannah Tetteh, Minister for Trade and Industry, Ghana; and Dr. Kofi Amoah, CEO of Progeny Ventures Inc.<\/p>\n

The event will also feature a Special Youth Summit, a forum for enterprising, energetic youth from Africa to debate issues, exchange ideas and foster beneficial friendships and partnerships.
There will also be special country presentations to unearth business and investment opportunities in key frontier markets within the continent.<\/p>\n

Telecommunications giant Vodafone is the title sponsor for this year\u2019s forum. Other sponsors are Zenith Bank and International Energy Insurance (IEI).<\/p>\n
