Aston Villa<\/a> defender Habib Beye<\/a> is looking for the club\u2019s new manager Alex McLeish<\/a> to rejuvenate his career after two years on the fringes of the team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beye signed for the Midlands side back in 2009 from Newcastle United and has made just 11 appearances for the Villans ever since.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 33-year-old\u2019s former managers, Martin O\u2019Neill and Gerard Houllier, both chose to ignore the Senegalese full-back, with the recently departed Frenchman even resigning him to the reserve side on occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beye is hoping to push into the first team and revive his Villa career under McLeish.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It’s a fresh start for everyone,” Beye told the Birmingham Mail<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If the manager needs me, I will be here. It’s not about me. As a professional you want to play week-in and week-out but sometimes you can’t.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If you don’t play every game you are still part of the team and the squad. We’re all in it together. It’s about everyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Of course you want to shine as a player because you’re a professional and you’re always looking to show your very best but it’s about teamwork and being a close unit.<\/span><\/p>\n

“You will have injuries and you have to use the entire squad.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The Scotsman has included the defender in pre-season, and Beye is eager for the new campaign to get going so he can show what he can do.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I am excited,” he added. “When you have a holiday it’s good, but you’re always itching to come back to football. It’s your passion.”<\/span><\/p>\n
