Yola \u2013 President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the renaming of the Federal University of Technology, Yola.<\/p>\n

The university is now Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, MAUTECH.<\/p>\n

The renaming of the institution takes effect from October 1, 2011.<\/p>\n

Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Bashir Haruna Usman, at a briefing, yesterday, in Yola, said this was in line with the tradition of immortalizing important personalities.<\/p>\n

Bashir said the change of name to MAUTECH was in fulfillment of President Jonathan\u2019s promise to immotalise the late Adama following a request by Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa.<\/p>\n

Modibbo Adama Ibn Hassan, Vanguard learnt, was a great Islamic scholar, educationist, outstanding leader and founder of Fombina Kingdom, now Adamawa Emirate Council.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
