The National Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor John Borham, has called on the country’s youth to resist corrupt and evil foreign cultural influences.

They should be God-fearing and lead pious lives to assure themselves, families and nation of a fulfilling future.

Pastor Borham was speaking at the opening session of the annual spiritual retreat of the Deeper Life Campus Fellowship (DLCF) at Brofoyedru, near Kumasi.

This year’s event dubbed “Explo 2011,” has as its theme: “Supernatural power for over comers.”

It is being attended by more than 3,000 people.

The Fellowship is an arm of Deeper Life Bible Church, which focuses on the spiritual, social and professional needs of students and staff of tertiary institutions.

This year’s retreat puts premium on the development of entrepreneurial skills.

Pastor Borham said the church was not only concerned about the spiritual growth of its members but their physical needs as well.

He said it was on account of this that they were doing everything to expose and encourage the youth into trades that would help them to become economically self-supporting.

Pastor James Sai, Bolgatanga Regional Overseer of the Fellowship, reminded the gathering about the power of prayers, saying they should stay in constant communion with God.

He told them to remain confident that no matter the situation they found themselves, Jesus Christ would be by their side.
