While we are still studying the details of the proposal of the President on the 6-year single tenure, we are however worried that the proposal will divert the attention of Federal and State Governments from very serious issues besetting our country such as corruption, povety,insecurity and unemployment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pained that at a time when even the Nigerian Senate and the generality of Nigerians are raising concerns about the unacceptable level of unemployment in Nigeria that the President appears to be focusing on tenure change. We therefore appeal to the President to first and foremost tackle the unemployment, corruption, insecurity and poverty challenges in Nigeria before embarking on any discussion about tenure change or tenure elongation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Comments are moderated.
