Nanyini, board member and Anthony Gyampoh being assisted by members of the new culture project committee to unveil the core values<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), in its bid to build a new customer-friendly image, yesterday launched its new organisational culture at a lively ceremony in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>ECG, which was established in 1967 and witnessed changes in its business strategy, capital financing, technology, among others, has been compelled to focus on the attitude of its human resource to endear it to customers.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Gyampoh, Managing Director, ECG in a speech, noted: \u201cWe are confident that a change in the way we do things will result in an improved customer satisfaction. Among other things, our changed culture will lead to effective and efficient utilization of the capital investment and the provision of quality, safe and reliable electricity resources to our customer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Gyampoh indicated that at the heart of ECG\u2019s new organizational culture are its new core values, beliefs, attitude and behaviours, as well as the public and government.<\/p>\n<p>Enumerating ECG\u2019s new core values, the MD said the company is passionate about its customers and wants to be the best.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a change management process that was very crucial to the survival of ECG. It involves change in our thinking, attitudes and behaviours.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He therefore called on the media and the general public to expose people who collaborate with some ECG staff to defiantly ruin the image of the company through negative activities such as stealing of power, poles, cables and conductors, for a handsome reward.<\/p>\n<p>Alvin Sarpong, Acting Director of Human Resource, ECG, giving a background to the birth of the new corporate culture, said in 2009, O&#038;A consultants, led by Messrs Opoku and Akoto, was contracted by management of ECG, to work on new corporate values.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have received a lot of bashing from the public and continue to do so.
