\u201cLast season I felt so good in pre-season and I got injured right towards the end of pre-season,\u201d Anichebe told the club\u2019s official website.<\/p>\n\u201cI think I took that one a lot harder that when I got injured off the tackle from Kevin Nolan.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought I was doing really well, I felt fit and strong and then I got injured.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a bitter blow to swallow but I had good friends, family and the manager who showed a lot of faith in me.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes you need to take your mind away from football, it\u2019s our job and we love it but there\u2019s a lot more to think about.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt puts things into perspective when you\u2019re injured, it helps you learn.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI pray that the injuries are past me and that I can show what I\u2019m capable of,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Anichebe, known primarily as a striker, has also been used in wide positions by David Moyes during pre-season games.<\/p>\n
And the youngster says the experience of playing out wide is helping him develop as a footballer.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve taken playing wide in my stride, I had some good games there last year so I can\u2019t really argue,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cPlaying up front is good but the main thing is helping out the team, I haven\u2019t got a preference, playing wide is a lot harder than up front but I don\u2019t mind.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s really demanding playing wide, sometimes from the outside you see other people doing it and you think it\u2019s not that hard but when you get put into that position it is.<\/p>\n
\u201cI played on the wing against Spurs and I was having to chase down Gareth Bale.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was crazy but it\u2019s about breaking those boundaries.\u201d<\/p>\n
Injury restricted Anichebe to just eighteen appearances for the Toffees last year, and he has not scored for the club since the 2009-10 season.<\/p>\n
