Last week, English champions Manchester United<\/a><\/abbr> hammered MLS<\/a><\/abbr> outfit Seattle Sounders<\/a><\/abbr> 7-0 in a friendly match and now MLS<\/a><\/abbr> Commissioner Don Garber believes their outlook on these matches has to change.<\/p>\n

The Sounders played reserves players and even trialists against the European runners-up and paid the price for not taking the game on as they should have.<\/p>\n

Garber feels that it is these types of matches which will put MLS<\/a><\/abbr> on the map and is sure that the Sounders would now regret their decision to go in half-hearted.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody likes to lose 7-0,\u201d Garber said. \u201cYou don\u2019t like to lose 7-0 in a schoolyard soccer match.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur view is that if we\u2019re going to play these games, we ought to play to win. And if a team can\u2019t fit it into their schedule either because of congestion or their own priorities, then they shouldn\u2019t play in those games.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think Seattle regrets playing their second team, reserves, even trialists against Manchester United<\/a><\/abbr>. I don\u2019t think we\u2019d ever do anything like that again.\u201d<\/p>\n
