Danny Welbeck<\/a> has vowed to stay and fight for a first-team place at Manchester United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The England Under-21 international spent last season at Sunderland but now wants to kick-start his Old Trafford career.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n


Welbeck has been in goalscoring form on United’s tour of America and hopes he can have a similar impact that Javier Hernandez had on the champions’ campaign last season.<\/p>\n

He told reporters: “My main aim is to get games with United now.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

“What Javier did shows you that if you’re in form, the manager plays you. He is always going to give youth a chance as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Javier was not starting most of the games at the start of the season but he was in the side later and was on top form.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We have got good competition among the strikers at United so you have just got to go out there and show what you can do.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I think I can break through if I get my opportunity and I’m going to give it the best shot I can.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Welbeck was keen to stress his thanks to Sunderland after scoring six goals in 28 appearances for the Black Cats last season.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

He continued: “It was the best thing for me to go on loan and get minutes under my belt.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I went there and showed people what I can do by scoring goals in the Premier League and I have come back to United a bigger and better person.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Also, Fabio Capello took note, so I was delighted with that.<\/span><\/p>\n

“When you are playing for the best team in the world, there are no limits and you can go as far as you want.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The manager was pleased with what I did last season and he is looking forward to what I can do this season.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
