Parliament has officially told Kenya Revenue Authority that MPs will not pay taxes on their allowances claiming the Constitution exempts them from doing so. The Parliamentary Service Commission chaired by House Speaker Kenneth Marende, declared that KRA demands for arrears of taxes as illegal.
