Lawal cleared to contest Ghana FA Ex.Co elections<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lawal Abdul Ganiyu is fit to contest the Eastern Regional Football Association\u2019s chairmanship slot, the Elections Committee of the Ghana Football Association has ruled.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The incumbent had been accused of constituting his own delegates list ahead of Friday\u2019s polls.<\/p>\n

However the EC ruled there is no truth in the allegations since there are laid down procedures in acquiring delegates list.<\/p>\n

If even true, the EC had no powers to disqualify the candidate on the basis of misconduct because it is out of its remit.<\/p>\n

It is only the Executive Committe which has the power to disqualify a candidate on grounds of misconduct with the subsequent approval of Congress.<\/p>\n

Lawal will now battle Nana Kwadwo Budu II in his bid to retain his Executive Committee seat.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n
