Ms Anita Danso, Central Regional Branch Chairman of the Ghana Traditional Caterers Association has said the lack of consultations by revenue agencies in fixing taxes and levies for members of the Association is adversely affecting the viability of their businesses.<\/p>\n

She appealed to such agencies to involve civil societies, especially traditional caterers, in the fixing of levies.<\/p>\n

Ms Danso made the suggestion at a four-day capacity building workshop held for members of the Association at Winneba.<\/p>\n

It aimed at sensitizing members to be abreast with policies of the Food and Drugs Board and also on the need for members to honour their tax obligations regularly aside the Association\u2019s dues.<\/p>\n

Twenty members from Winneba, Nsaba, Kasoa, Cape Coast, Nyakrom, Mankessim, Apam and Swedru attended the workshop.<\/p>\n

Ms Danso urged the participants to utilize the knowledge and skills they had acquired to improve their businesses and deliver quality services to the general public.<\/p>\n

She also appealed to them to educate their counterparts who were not able to attend the workshop to carry on their duties in accordance with regulations stipulated by the Food and Drugs Board.<\/p>\n

A facilitator from BUSAC Consultants, an advocacy for private sector development, took participants through topics including, business management, record keeping, general hygiene practices and customer care.<\/p>\n
