Readers would recall that series of setbacks have characterized the criminal trial either due to the absence of defence counsel or at the request of prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>When the case resumed before Principal magistrate Taiwo Alagbe of the Banjul Magistrates&#8217; court, Police prosecutor Sergeant Manga, applied for an adjournment. The magistrate then requested for the reason for the prosecution&#8217;s demand. Mr. Manga responded that something is in the pipeline but &#8220;It is vague, and as a result they are minded not to act on it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The counsel for the defendants informed the court that she has no objection &#8220;Because it is the prosecution that charged and brought the accused persons to court.&#8221; She continued that her objective is to see her clients acquitted and discharged or charges dropped against them.
