The flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party has told the people of Kasoa in the Central Region that his promise to introduce free education up to the basic school level is not a mere rhetoric.<\/p>\n
Nana Akufo-Addo said he was aware many schoolchildren came from very poor homes and that making education expensive would not help the country.<\/p>\n
According to him, although his manifesto was yet to be ready, education was one item that was very dear to him and would want to see changed.<\/p>\n
Nana Akufo-Addo is on a campaign tour of the region dubbed \u201cListening Campaign\u201d with the ultimate aim of generating interests.<\/p>\n
The NPP presidential candidate will be visiting three constituencies in the region, starting with the Awutu Senya constituency where he visited on Wednesday, July13, 2011.<\/p>\n
The team will also be going to Agona East on Thursday and the Effutu constituency on Friday to conclude the first part of the tour of the region.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, the NPP flag bearer will go to Cape Coast to attend the funeral of the late Mr Kojo Mensah, popularly known as Kojo Alata, a leading member of the NPP who passed away on May 2, 2011 at the Central Regional Hospital, Cape Coast.<\/p>\n
The NPP flag bearer will be accompanied on his community-based \u201clistening campaign\u201d by his campaign manager, Mr Boakye Agyarko, director of operations, Mr Lord Commey and his press secretary, Herbert Krapa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
