Abeiku Santana and Lucky Mensah<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

NEWS-ON<\/strong><\/em>E has uncovered the actual cause of why ace broadcast journalist Abeiku Santana of Okay FM<\/em> and Lucky Mensah, one of Ghana\u2019s versatile highlife musicians, are at each other\u2019s throat.<\/p>\n

The two, according to checks, are at each other\u2019s throat over the release of a campaign song for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), particularly for the party\u2019s 2012 Presidential Candidate, Prof. John Atta Mills.<\/p>\n

The broadcast journalist and the musician were best of friends until Lucky, about two months ago, released a single, \u2018Atta Beye Amamo\u2019,<\/em> a song that endorses President Mills for a second term Presidency.<\/p>\n

Moments after the song was released, Abeiku was the very first person to give it airplay on \u2018Ekwanso Dwo Dwo<\/em>\u2019 on Okay 101.7 FM.<\/p>\n

The contents of the song shocked listeners because Lucky Mensah had earlier released his \u2018Nkratuo\u2019<\/em> song, perceived to be a sarcastic satire against President Mills.<\/p>\n

Abeiku, in playing the song, asked several times if Lucky Mensah was not being inconsistent by first releasing a song perceived to be against the President, and then turning around to release a song singing his praises.<\/p>\n

Lucky Mensah, on the other hand, took offence at Abeiku\u2019s comments and warned him to stay off<\/strong> the \u2018Atta Beye Amamo\u2019<\/em> song. Lucky, without giving details, accused Abeiku of acting hypocritically and even threatened to reveal a few negative things about the ace broadcaster.<\/p>\n

Reports<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Reports reaching NEWS-ONE<\/em><\/strong> from the camp of Lucky Mensah reveals that even before the \u2018Atta Beye Amamo\u2019<\/em> song was released, Abeiku Santana was in the know and even acted as one of the architects.<\/p>\n

Though not proved beyond doubt, Abeiku is reported to have been part of the negotiating deal between Lucky Mensah and unnamed persons who sponsored the release of the song.<\/p>\n

Lucky Mensah\u2019s Inconsistency<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Lucky Mensah, in 2009, had complained publicly that his music career had been adversely affected because of the 2008 campaign song he did for the NDC. He also complained of not being paid for the song. It was during the heat of his complaints that he released the \u2018Nkratuo\u2019<\/em> song that has become a campaign material for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).<\/p>\n

Reports say a very famous female politician was the executive producer of the \u2018Nkratuo\u2019<\/em> song.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lucky Mensah Beaten<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The musician was nearly lynched at the Osu Kuku Hill Campaign Office of President Mills on Thursday, May 5, 2011 when the president picked his nomination forms to contest the NDC flag-bearer primaries.<\/p>\n

By then, the \u2018Nkratuo<\/em>\u2019 song was still enjoying massive airplay and Lucky had not released the \u2018Atta Beye Amamo\u2019<\/em> track. The musician turned up at the campaign office but had to be whisked away because party supporters who saw him there started to attack him.<\/p>\n
