{"id":452045,"date":"2011-07-01T13:11:31","date_gmt":"2011-07-01T13:11:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/07\/01\/central-ps-explains-diseases-reduction\/"},"modified":"2011-07-01T13:11:31","modified_gmt":"2011-07-01T13:11:31","slug":"central-ps-explains-diseases-reduction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/07\/01\/central-ps-explains-diseases-reduction\/","title":{"rendered":"Central PS Explains Diseases&#8217; Reduction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"29.0012051823\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.co.zm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/timeszambia180.jpg\" alt=\"The Times of Zambia (Ndola)\" title=\"Visit The Times of Zambia (Ndola)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1 July 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>CENTRAL Province Permanent Secretary Denny Lumbama has attributed the reduction of malaria, cholera and other diseases in the province to various interventions the Government has put in place.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lumbama said it was gratifying to see that Kabwe, Chibombo and Kapiri Mposhi districts, which were prone to outbreaks of cholera and experienced a heavy burden of malaria cases, had recorded a marked reduction of the diseases.<\/p>\n<p>He paid tribute to the district and provincial management teams for working hard in ensuring lives were saved.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at Ibis Gardens in Chibombo on Tuesday during the launch of the mid-term expenditure framework (MTEF) 2012-2014 planning workshop, Mr Lumbama said the Government had committed itself to reducing incidents of malaria and cholera during the rainy season.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Lumbama said the Government would continue putting in place interventions and programmes aimed at reducing the burden of diseases in line with the Millennium Development Goals.<\/p>\n<p>He said the ministry had been implementing health sector reforms since 1992 with a focus on improving health service delivery, and were now bearing fruit.<\/p>\n<p>The permanent secretary said he was happy that the 2012-2014 MTEF planning process would pay attention to community health planning as it intended to engage communities in management health services.<\/p>\n<p>He urged the participants to come up with strategies and priority interventions in their action plans and assist in analysing bottlenecks experienced last year.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>See more here:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201107010821.html\" title=\"Central PS Explains Diseases' Reduction\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Central PS Explains Diseases&#8217; Reduction<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> 1 July 2011 CENTRAL Province Permanent Secretary Denny Lumbama has attributed the reduction of malaria, cholera and other diseases in the province to various interventions the Government has put in place.
