Craig Gardner<\/a> has admitted that he is happy to have joined Sunderland<\/a>, insisting that the chance to play at the Stadium of Light was one that he could not turn down.<\/p>\n

Birmingham City fell prey to relegation on the final day of the Premier League last season, with the midfielder scoring 11 goals in a campaign that saw the Blues winning the League Cup.<\/p>\n

But with top-flight football being unavailable for the relegated side, the 24-year-old joined the Black Cats for an undisclosed fee.<\/p>\n

“It’s unbelievable, to be honest. As soon as I found out Sunderland were interested, it was a no-brainer,” Gardner told SAFC TV<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“Obviously, I have heard so much about Steve Bruce and his backroom staff and how good a chairman Niall Quinn is. \u00a0<\/p>\n

“It’s such a massive club and their ambitions for this season meet my ambitions, and it was too good to turn down.”<\/p>\n

Gardner was the third signing for Sunderland in two days, with South Korean striker Ji Dong-Won and Connor Wickham having also joined the club.<\/p>\n
