{"id":450946,"date":"2011-06-30T11:33:15","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T11:33:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/30\/why-bankole-nafada-are-facing-criminal-charges-alone-by-waziri\/"},"modified":"2011-06-30T11:33:15","modified_gmt":"2011-06-30T11:33:15","slug":"why-bankole-nafada-are-facing-criminal-charges-alone-by-waziri","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/30\/why-bankole-nafada-are-facing-criminal-charges-alone-by-waziri\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Bankole, Nafada Are Facing Criminal Charges Alone, by Waziri"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"42.3164623011\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independentngonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daily Independent<\/a> (Lagos)<\/p>\n<p>Alexandra Mede<\/p>\n<p>29 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Abuja \u2014 Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has defended its non-inclusion of other principal officers of the sixth House of Representatives in the criminal charge of illegal procurement of N37.7 billion loan against former Speaker, Dimeji Bankole, and his deputy, Usman Nafada.<\/p>\n<p>According to the anti-graft agency, the facts of the matter have not indicted any other official and the commission cannot just include them for the sake of it.<\/p>\n<p>EFCC Chairman, Farida Waziri, said this in her office on Wednesday in a chat with newsmen during a courtesy visit of national officers of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).<\/p>\n<p>Waziri emphasised that investigation of Bankole and Nafada is not personal.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is not personal and that is a fact. We have a job to do. What I look at when a case is before me is the facts of the case as can be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction to sustain the charge.
