{"id":450679,"date":"2011-06-30T06:35:39","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T06:35:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/30\/rwanda-bk-to-launch-ipo-today-share-priced-at-rwf125\/"},"modified":"2011-06-30T06:35:39","modified_gmt":"2011-06-30T06:35:39","slug":"rwanda-bk-to-launch-ipo-today-share-priced-at-rwf125","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/30\/rwanda-bk-to-launch-ipo-today-share-priced-at-rwf125\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda: BK to Launch IPO Today, Share Priced at Rwf125"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"32.0162381597\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newtimes.co.rw\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/img\/static\/publishers\/minibanners\/newtimes180.jpg\" alt=\"The New Times (Kigali)\" title=\"Visit The New Times (Kigali)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saul Butera<\/p>\n<p>30 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Bank of Kigali (BK) has set its Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 300.3 million shares at Rwf125 each, the Business Times has learnt.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s leading lender, by profitability, is set to float 25 percent of the 45 percent overall shares to be offloaded today.<\/p>\n<p>BK&#8217;s Chief Operational Officer, Lawson Naibo, told Business Times, on Tuesday the bank is selling 25 per cent of its share capital for expansion reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Government will sell additional 20 per cent during the IPO, which will bring the total offering to 45 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>BK&#8217;s listing becomes the country&#8217;s second IPO after Government sold 20 percent of its shares in the country&#8217;s biggest beverages manufacturer, Bralirwa.<\/p>\n<p>The IPO is set to close on July 29, 2011 while listing of the shares on the Rwanda Stock Exchange (RSE) is set for August 29, 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Government is also planning to sell its shares in telecom giant MTN Rwanda.
