{"id":450591,"date":"2011-06-29T23:55:48","date_gmt":"2011-06-29T23:55:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/29\/fg-evacuated-10000-nigerians-from-crisis-torn-countries-%e2%80%93-nema-boss\/"},"modified":"2011-06-29T23:55:48","modified_gmt":"2011-06-29T23:55:48","slug":"fg-evacuated-10000-nigerians-from-crisis-torn-countries-nema-boss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/29\/fg-evacuated-10000-nigerians-from-crisis-torn-countries-nema-boss\/","title":{"rendered":"FG evacuated 10,000 Nigerians from crisis-torn countries \u2013 NEMA boss"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"61\">\n<p><strong>\u00a0BY LAIDE AKINBOADE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ABUJA-In view of the crises in four African nations, the Federal Government has so far evacuated over 10,000 Nigerians between the months of February and April 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Director General of National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Alhaji Muhammad Sani-Sidi, stated this at a meeting he had with stakeholders in emergency management.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the evacuation covers such crisis-ridden countries as Egypt, Tunisia, Cote d\u2019Ivoire and Libya.<\/p>\n<p>It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan directed the immediate evacuation of Nigerians in these crisis-torn countries .<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Sani-Sidi, who was represented by the Director of Training, Mrs. Clementine Aisueni, said: \u201cThe recent socio-political crisis in the Middle East and some African countries, particularly Egypt, Tunisia, Cote \u2018D\u2019 Ivoire and Libya, posed tremendous challenges to our citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Comments are moderated.
