EDO State government yesterday described as \u201cuntrue\u201d the allegation by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) won in the last general elections because of the influence of traditional rulers who were alleged to have forced their subjects to vote against the PDP.<\/p>\n

Special Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole on Political Matters, Charles Idahosa, while reacting to a statement credited to a chieftain of the PDP in the state, Owere Dickson-Imasogie, that the ACN won due to the influence of the palace of the Oba of Benin, said: \u201cThe result of the election was a reward of the rebirth of Edo State by the Oshiomhole-led administration. The massive developments in the three senatorial districts of the state, which the PDP deprived the people for years, won the election for the ACN\u201d.<\/p>\n
