{"id":450584,"date":"2011-06-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-06-30T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/06\/30\/disagreement-stalls-lagos-nurtw-officials%e2%80%99-trial\/"},"modified":"2011-06-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2011-06-30T00:00:00","slug":"disagreement-stalls-lagos-nurtw-officials-trial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/06\/30\/disagreement-stalls-lagos-nurtw-officials-trial\/","title":{"rendered":"Disagreement stalls Lagos NURTW  officials\u2019 trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div readability=\"51.0137686861\"><a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ngrguardiannews.com\/plugins\/content\/valaddthis\/images\/share-long.gif\" width=\"125\" height=\"16\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<div readability=\"48\">\n<p>THE trial of Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Olorunwa Rafiu and 10 others, was stalled yesterday at the Ikeja Magistrate\u2019s Court following a disagreement between the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Police over who should prosecute the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Rafiu and the others were arraigned on May 17 on an eight-count charge of alleged unlawful assembly, bearing of firearms and offensive weapons, obstruction, malicious damage and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.<\/p>\n<p>When the matter came up for hearing, the DPP in Lagos, represented by Mrs. Bukola Akanni, informed the court presided over by Magistrate A.O.
