Batte<\/p>\n<p>28 June 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>The Tuesday afternoon downpour that lasted well over half an hour was enough to flood several Kampala roads. Daily Monitor reporter Edgar R. Batte was able to capture photographic moments of the &#8216;flood&#8217; that left many cars stuck as kanyamas and boda boda riders made a quick buck rescuing the stranded drivers.<\/p>\n<p>At the Shoprite round-about, the road was practically immersed with the rushing water so high that adult pedestrians daring to cross found the water reached knee level.<\/p>\n<p>The reporter also made his way through the soggy Kisenyi, to Makerere and Bwaise. It was no better. Bwaise is traditionally known for suffering the after-effects of downpours and after the Tuesday downpour the road that connects Bwaise to Kazo was cut off by floods due to the heavy rains.<\/p>\n<p>Locals described the rains as the heaviest in recent times.
