The record number of 20 special advisers sought by President Goodluck Jonathan would if approved cost the tax payers a basic of N15,543,000 per month and N186,516,000 to maintain per annul in basic official entitlements.<\/p>\n

The above amount is, however, besides order perks of office including allowances plethora of aides including special assistants to the Special Advisers that are maintained by the Special Assistants themselves.<\/p>\n

In the past budgetary provision of N4 million for overhead cost had been approved for each Special Adviser.<\/p>\n

The Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, by virtue of relevant constitutional provisions that empowers it to fix and determine the salaries and allowances of public and political office holders, recommended N777,150.00 as monthly entitlement for Special Advisers.<\/p>\n

A Nigerian minister is paid 794,085.00 monthly, while a Minister of State receives 783,032.00.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
